This evening we gather with friends to celebrate Yule.
I know it’s a few days late of the astronomical date of Solstice, but I like to imagine that in the ancient days, we celebrated for several days. I see myself walking with many people, maybe all women, maybe mixed, and we are going to meet up with other people as we all head toward the Mound – the place of reverence and reunion. The place where we connect with our ancestors and with each other. We give up the bodies or the ashes of our beloved, who are taking a different journey. We know they have not forgotten us as we have not forgotten them.
The soul lives on as love.
